Uncontested vs. Contested Divorces

A divorce is never a happy time, but it does not have to be a long, drawn-out court drama.  Many times, a husband and wife can agree on how things shoud be resolved in the divorce.  This is often referred to as an uncontested divorce.  In such a scenario, either the wife or the husband can hire an attorney who can prepare the necessary legal paperwork to be submitted to the court.  It is important for the other party to understand that the attorney only represents the spouse that hired him/her.  But, pursuing such an uncontested divorce will often streamline the process as well as keep attorney and other fees much lower than they might be otherwise.
